Our dynamic group of Anaesthetic Technicians provide comprehensive care to our rural community spanning five-hundred kilometres from Karamea to Haast. We are looking for a motivated, team-focused Anaesthetic Technician to provide quality and equitable care to our patients and their whanau (family).

Mō te tūnga About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing mentorship to students;
  • The provision of safe, professional, technical and clinical assistance to the Anaesthetist;
  • Working as part of the multidisciplinary team alongside the Anaesthetist to provide anaesthesia services in the Perioperative Department, Emergency Department, Critical Care Unit, and Maternity;
  • Being part of the trauma and resuscitation response teams.

We operate a 24/7 service, our normal hours of work are 0800-1630 with some variations in-line with clinical needs. After these hours we run an on-call service shared amongst all of our Anaesthetic Technicians.

The role will work as part of the theatre team in providing maximum quality care to patients undergoing anaesthesia and anaesthetic procedures (nerve Block, local anaesthetic, invasive lines)

  • Must be registered and have current Medical Sciences Council Practicing Certificate.
  • Ability to - Work together - in a professional and helpful manner.
  • Ability to - work smarter - by being innovative and proactive.
