About the opportunity:

Our client is seeking an administrator to join their Wellington team. They offer a variety of work and the potential to work from home occasionally. This would suit someone who has administrative experience and is looking for a new opportunity to grow and learn.

You will be responsible for supporting the Chief Executive and ensuring the smooth operation of varied administrative tasks such as membership services, supporting the Board, their annual conference, merchandise sales, and more. This is a permanent part-time role (20 hours) that would work around school hours.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the membership
  • Merchandise Management
  • Board Support
  • Conference Logistics and attendance at the annual event
  • Everyday administration and accounting
  • Social media and website maintenance

This role will suit someone with all or some following background/experience/qualities: 

  • Experience in the provision of administrative support, ideally with experience in a small office environment.
  • Experience meeting deadlines, managing conflicting priorities, and resolving issues.
  • Good interpersonal skills with sound oral and written communication
  • A strong degree of initiative and self-motivation and ability to work independently
  • Solid experience working with Microsoft Office products, especially Word and Excel. Xero accounting experience would be an advantage as would the use of Mailchimp for mass email.

About the company:

Our client supports the NZ Heavy Haulage sector with activities including promoting their interests within relevant authorities, sharing information throughout the sector, and facilitating the industry conference annually. Their base is in Wellington but they serve the industry members NZ wide and travel to the annual conference will be required.
