The Operational Policy team at ACC oversees policy development and implementation and provide expertise to the Technical Services function and the broader organisation on operational policy matters.

As an Operational Policy Advisor you will support key stakeholders by offering guidance to enhance frontline decision-making quality and consistency. This includes crafting guidelines and implementing new policies in accordance with legal and organisational standards.

This is a Wellington or Dunedin based opportunity.

You will be able to succeed in developing and implementing policies, with experience in the following competencies:

  • Crafting relevant policies and guidelines, providing trustworthy advice to governance decision-makers.
  • Able to examine and evaluate information to generate sound suggestions.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, particularly in concise and clear writing.
  • Skilled at working effectively with stakeholders holding diverse views and expectations.
  • Proficient in navigating legislation and regulation to ensure compliance throughout policy development and implementation processes.
  • Previous experience in policy development and implementation within related sectors, coupled with a strong understanding of legislative frameworks and regulatory requirements.
  • Shows capability in managing complex stakeholder situations and handling conflicting priorities adeptly.
  • Exhibit strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills in policy-related contexts.

The appointing salary range for this role is $89,288 - $110,000 with appointment depending on skills and experience of the successful applicant. ACC also offers additional 9% superannuation.
