Start Date - As soon as available.
Hours -
30 hours a week, working Monday to Friday 8.30am to 2pm
Shifts  - Permanent.
Location  - Te Nīkau, Grey Hospital and Health Centre, Greymouth.
Salary - Starting rate $23.75 per hour. Based on the E tū Service and Food Workers collective agreement.
Benefits - Time and a half on weekends! and double time on Public Holidays!

Mō te tūnga - About the Role
Our kitchen team are responsible for creating highest standard Caf Food for our staff, patients and visitors. Following standardised recipes and using creative flair to present food that we can be proud of while maintaining clean and tidy working areas. 

A large part of this role is customer focused so you will need strong customer service skills and the ability to deal with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds. Training will be provided.

You will be responsible for:

  • Assisting our cooks with preparing and presenting food
  • Delivering meals to our patients across the hospital
  • Ensure that your work space is clean and tidy

We are looking for a team player who is flexible and also willing to be able to help out the cleaning team if required.

  • Skilled kitchen assistant with experience within a similar environment would be ideal
  • Excellent customer service & food preparation skills
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work autonomously as well
  • Physically fit and reliable
