Personal Assistant to GM Ministerial Services - Permanent - Wellington

The opportunity:

As the Personal Assistant to the GM Ministerial services, your new role will see you provide consistent and dependable administrative support to our busy General Manager, enabling a high level of service to the Executive arm of the NZ Government. Leveraging your previous administration experience, you will add value through focused diary management, process and system development, delegating and identifying risks and issues, and building strong relationships across the group and with a range of stakeholders across the parliamentary precinct.

This busy role offers a unique insight into the heart of the Government in a supportive, genuinely fast-paced, and exciting work environment. This is a permanent position, with a salary band of $55,000 - $73,000 per annum, with starting salaries reflecting relevant skills and experience. 'For the right individual we are open to considering reduced working hours (30-32 hours per week, split over 5 days).

What skills or experience would I need to be successful?

To be successful in this role, we expect you will have experience with diary and inbox management, meeting coordination, arranging travel and accommodation, and providing a wide range of administrative support to a senior leader and their wider team.

A natural communicator, you will be known for your exceptional written and verbal communication skills and be adept at building relationships with a diverse range of individuals across government agencies. Flexible and positive in nature, you will be able to quickly adapt to changing priorities and proactively anticipate the needs of those you are supporting.

You will be technology savvy and accustomed to working in fast-paced environments, with incredible organisational and time management skills. You will be confident dealing with confidential and sensitive topics and demonstrate a high level of discretion and professionalism.

The team:

Ministerial Services is a business unit responsible for providing a range of services to the Executive arm of government. Our teams support decision-making of the Executive helping it to function effectively, including providing VIP Transport services to Ministers and other customers, and organising Guest of Government visits, state and ministerial functions, and national commemorative events (such as ANZAC Day ceremonies).
