Ngā mōhiohio e pā ana ki tēnei mahi (About this position)

  • You will lead the Wairau Hospital Pharmacy team, as part of the overall Pharmacy Service, to ensure a motivated team provide a safe and effective pharmacy service to the patients of Wairau Hospital and beyond.
  • Along with leadership and sdministration responsibilities, you will also apply clinical skills for direct patient car.
  • Although based in Blenheim, this position may occasionally require travelling to Nelson or elsewhere at times for face-to-face meetings or similar.
  • As well as being an integral part of the Pharmacy Services Leadership team, you will be a key member of the overall leadership Team based at Wairau Hospital

There may be some paid on-call requirement for this role - negotiable.

Salary range will depend on experience but is likely to be $114,000 to $121,500 per annum pro rata.

Ko wai he kaitono tōtika? (Who is an appropriate applicant?)

  • You will be a pharmacist with (preferably but not essential) at least 5 years post internship experience and demonstrated leadership qualities and experience.  Hospital Pharmacy experience is preferred but not essential for this exciting role.  You will be passionate about patient care and quality improvement.  Along with leading a team, you will also be a strong team player with a view ensuring the Pharmacy Services as a whole performs well for its staff, stakeholders and patients.
  • Your oral and written communications skills will be excellent and your computer literacy and skills will also be essential.
  • A sense of humour always helps, as does the ability to manage stress and understand the importance of self-care.
  • The successful applicant will be eligible to work in New Zealand and be a New Zealand registered Pharmacist with no conditions on their Annual Practising Certificate (APC).  A current APC, or ability to rapidly achieve a current APC, is essential.  Note that this role includes becoming a pharmacy license holder od Wairau Hospital Pharmacy.
