Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
This role is for a Physiotherapist who is passionate about neuro-rehabilitation. This role would suit an experienced clinician who is able to work in an inpatient ward setting treating people with a variety of conditions including stroke, acquired brain injuries, amputations, and other neurological conditions. The successful candidate will be someone who can work collaboratively with patients, their whānau, and the wider rehabilitation MDT to provide great outcomes for patients. This role provides mentorship to colleagues within the team, and supervision for colleagues and students. There is also the opportunity to work on service developments for Rehabilitation.
Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team
Our rehabilitation MDT is based within the Kenepuru Inpatient Allied Health Team - a team of over 30 Allied Health staff from six different professions. We work together closely to provide a service of high standard to patients and their families and whānau. We are a very supportive team who provide training and learning opportunities, supervision, encourage professional development and have fun and laughter along the way.
Within the rehabilitation ward you will work alongside dedicated nursing, medical and Allied Health staff to empower and enable patients to meet their rehabilitation goals. Depending on the experience level of the successful candidate, this role may also work with our Allied Health Consultant (Rehabilitation) who is a key member of the rehabilitation team, driving service improvements across the rehabilitation continuum.
Moū - About you
The ideal candidate will be an experienced and driven NZ Registered Physiotherapist with experience and interest in working in the neuro-rehabilitation setting and with amputees. You will have a clear understanding of the health needs of our Māori and Pacific communities and a drive to reduce inequities and improve health outcomes. Ideally you will have experience across the continuum of care which will help you foster links with community clinicians to enable a smooth transition for clients from the inpatient to community setting. You will have experience mentoring others and ideally have experience in driving service improvements.
