• Part time (0.9FTE), permanent role within Women - s Health (72hours/fortnight)
• Predominantly outpatient work; some inpatient cover required.

Mō te tūnga | About the Role

Here at Christchurch Hospital we are looking for an experienced Physiotherapist in Women - s Health Physiotherapy to join us in providing a quality service to our patients. You will work flexibly to provide support to patients across the clinical specialties in Women - s Health including obstetrics, gynaecology and pelvic pain. This role is predominantly outpatient work, however inpatient cover on the gynaecology and maternity inpatient wards may be required.  

This role sits within a wider team working across the clinical specialties of Women - s Health, Orthopaedics, Hand Therapy and Haemophillia.

Ko wai koe | About You

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Using detailed anatomical knowledge and musculoskeletal physiotherapy evidence to assess and manage a range of women - s health presentations from lower back pain in pregnancy, to continence and prolapse assessment and management, and chronic pelvic pain.
• Undertaking assessments, completing appropriate interventions and providing advice or referring to other services;
• Supervising and mentoring staff and students as required;
• Supporting quality improvement activities.
  

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and Experience

• A minimum of 2 years clinical experience working in Women - s Health
• Broad clinical experience working in a hospital setting (desirable);
• Good understanding of the current management principles of chronic pain as well as an understanding of the principles of adult education;
• An ability to contribute to interdisciplinary service development
• Knowledge of quality improvement principles and processes
• An ability to work unsupervised
• Excellent communication skills both verbally and written
• Demonstrated leadership abilities (desirable)
• Registration with the NZ Physiotherapy Board and an Annual Practicing Certificate is essential
