The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora, works towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the factors that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.

We have an excellent opportunity for a Programme Lead within the Transformation directorate. In this position you will ensure the successful design, delivery, coordination, and program management of NPHS's transformation program. This is a change management role but is not a digital- or IT-focused role.

You will assist the Director of Transformation in leading and coordinating programme delivery, including a blend of NPHS-facing and wider teams, to transform public health delivery. The transformation program is designed to deliver the changes established under Pae Ora (Healthy Futures legislation) and is aligned with Health NZ's strategic direction.

Mōu | About you

You will have experience leading teams that are responsible for key projects, and you will be confident ensuring there is a focus on supporting the pursuit and embedding of Māori health.

You will be comfortable working alongside teams and stakeholders to ensure transformational change initiatives and related work programs are strategically and operationally aligned and coordinated for the overall vision of NPHS.

• The ability to lead multi program/project coordination and delivery across diverse functions
• Experience successfully leading large diverse teams through change
• Relevant graduate and/or post-graduate qualification and health sector experience - preferably in Public Health
• An understanding of the significance of and obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, including how to apply Te Tiriti principles in a meaningful way in your role. This might include competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a willingness to learn and grow

• A commitment to being a good Te Tiriti partner in all your actions. This includes an understanding of the significance of and obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and the ability to apply Te Tiriti principles in a meaningful way in this role
• Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
