Mōu | About you

Essential qualifications:

  • Registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Radiation Technologists Board of New Zealand

  • Holds or eligible to hold an APC without conditions


It would be desirable for you to demonstrate:

  • Sound knowledge of radiation therapy techniques including advanced imaging along with pre-treatment and treatment workflow

  • Self-awareness and maturity when dealing with complex situations

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills

  • A commitment towards excellence and quality in radiation therapy technique and patient care


Conditions and hours of work are as stated in the Radiation Therapist’s Collective Agreement. The successful applicant may be requested to work overtime, participate in on-call as required, and must be available to work all rosters including some public holiday. Start times are between 7 and 10 am.

The Waikato Regional Cancer Centre is located in the metropolis of Hamilton, New Zealand. This unit serves a population of approximately 580,000, has approximately 120 staff. We are comprised of an Oncology Department (which includes Radiation Therapy and Chemotherapy outpatient treatment areas), an Inpatient Ward, Palliative Care Service and a Haematology Outpatient Department.
