Mō te tūranga | About the role
This role will contribute to ensuring that we as a district operations team maintain healthy positive working relationships with local iwi and meet our Treaty settlement obligations. The role will involve clarifying our obligations and identifying gaps in our delivery, then working with the affected iwi and the DOC operations team to raise our collective understanding and capability.
You will work closely with Ngāti Rangitihi environmental leads to support their conservation aspirations and ensure DOC fulfils its obligations under the Ngāti Rangitihi treaty settlement act. You'll play a key role in various tasks, including:

The Rotorua district operations team is a small but passionate group of environmental and conservation enthusiasts. Our team consists of Biodiversity, Recreation and Treaty and Community functions. We love the unique landscape in the Rotorua district, and together with iwi and community groups we strive to achieve meaningful conservation outcomes.

The salary range for this position is $66,535 to $83,906 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.
