Registered Health Professional - Tīhore Mai I Uta Tīhore Mai I Tai (TMIUTMIT) – Early Intervention school-based mental health service
(Under the funding umbrella of Waiariki Mana Ake)
Based within the North-Western Tauranga Bay of Plenty School Cluster
He Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role
Tihore Mai I Uta Tihore Mai I Tai school-based mental health service is an innovative approach to providing accessible mental health services to tamariki and whānau in Years 1-8 in schools/kura across the Bay of Plenty.
The team is made up of registered mental health professionals and support workers who deliver individual, whānau and group-based interventions within schools/kura (a group of schools usually in a geographical area, working together).
This role will work with the schools North-West of Tauranga (from Te Puna through to Katikati) within its Learning Support Delivery model to ensure that tamariki with mental health and wellbeing needs are identified, and interventions are put into place to support their emotional and mental health resilience from a whānau perspective.
So, if you are passionate about providing mental health early intervention and prevention to tamariki in Years 1-8, and you are innovative and creative and comfortable with working primarily in a schools-based setting then we want to hear from you.

He Kōrero mōu - About You
The successful candidate will be an experienced Child & Adolescent Registered Mental Health Professional or registered counsellor ideally with knowledge of the needs of the communities of the North-Western Bay of Plenty School Cluster and the competency to work effectively within diverse communities. Relevant skills in individual, whanau and group work are essential.
