The Opportunity

Come and join the supportive, hard-working team in our new 20 bed MAPU facility at Palmerston North Hospital!

If you are interested in taking your assessment skills to the next level, and being part of a supportive team that will help you grow in your role, we want to hear from you!

MAPU is a dedicated area that accepts acute medical patients from the Emergency Department. With a shorter stay for patients, around 24 – 48 hours, this isn't your usual medical ward. The emphasis is on rapid patient assessment and treatment, with the aim of either ran early discharge or a clear plan of care on admission.

We are looking for an experienced, quick thinking and dynamic registered nurse to join the team. In this fast paced, constantly changing environment, no two days are the same!

Hours of work will be 32 a week, working rostered, rotating shifts.

In 2023 we moved into our newly built MAPU located at the front of Palmerston North Hospital, right next door to the new EDOA-(ED Observation Area). The new, purpose-built facility has modern up to date equipment that includes 10 telemetry monitored beds.

It's never been a better time to Make the Move to Mid-Central and explore our beautiful rohe!
