Ward 29 and the new SHANA unit may be the place for you!

You will be working across both the ward and the SHANA unit

SHANA is a high acuity surgical area, which cares for patients who need comprehensive monitoring and nursing intervention, but do not require ICU or HDU care. You will use advanced patient assessment skills, provide heightened nursing vigilance, and use critical thinking and reasoning skills to deliver individualised and holistic nursing care. SHANA is a 5-beded, nurse-led unit staffed by two Registered Nurses, utilising high acuity monitoring.

 

Requirements

  • Minimum one year's recent surgical nursing experience as a New Zealand registered nurse.
  • Advanced Analgesia, CVAD, Negative Pressure Wound Therapy and IV cannulation certifications (or working towards)
  • Excellent communication skills; showing an ability to effectively work in collaboration with other health professionals and in a team environment

Role

  • Various FTE available permanent and to cover maternity leave, working rostered and rotating shifts
  • Includes a comprehensive orientation package with ongoing support from clinical coaches and nurse educators
