Our client is a long-established, locally owned and operated business based in Christchurch, specializing in the fabrication of a range of granite, marble, engineered stone and porcelain projects for New Zealand’s best designers, joiners, and builders. 
  
At present, we are looking for a Sawmill Cadet / Apprentice who is highly reliable and adept at time management, a good listener and quick learner for effective decision-making, in good physical and mental health with a positive attitude towards health and safety. 
  
Your Main Responsibilities Will Include: 

• Assist in sawmill clean-up operations, including clearing sawdust, wood chips, and broken boards that have missed chutes, conveyors, and augers regularly. 
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the work site. 
• Perform various other tasks on site as directed by the sawmill manager. 
• Ensure efficient and effective clean-up procedures are followed consistently. 

The successful candidate requires a willingness to learn and a desire to stay in the role long-term & must pass a pre-employment drug test or MOJ if required. No experience is necessary, on-the-job training is provided. Open to NZ Citizens / Residents or hold a valid open work visa.
