Mō mātou | About us

Our purpose at ACC is to improve lives every day. It's to put our customers first, show them manaakitanga and support their wellbeing. It's to enable everyone in Aotearoa the freedom to live their lives knowing that if they need us, we'll be there.

This role will help us deliver this purpose, by working with different areas of the organisation to improve the way we reach and engage with Māori and all New Zealanders, lift awareness of the support we provide, and drive business outcomes.

Mō tenei tūrana mahi | About the role

We're looking for a Senior Communications and Engagement Advisor passionate about improving the wellbeing of Aotearoa. There is an ambitious amount of work underway to transform our health services, deliver better health outcomes for our kiritaki (clients) and prevent accidents from taking place. We're looking for an experienced senior advisor to drive the engagement strategies for this important mahi.

This role will support our Māori Health Partnerships communications and engagement mahi, which includes the rollout of the Rongoā Māori Service and new Kaupapa Māori Solutions (hauora and rehabilitation services).

The role is key to ensuring we effectively engage with Māori health providers and practitioners to design and deliver services, and ensuring our kiritaki and whānau are aware of the services available to them.

The Senior Advisor will collaborate with leaders and managers to understand their needs and develop communications and marketing solutions that will deliver results. In addition to the above skills, the following would be an advantage:

  • knowledgeable in Māori culture and values
  • good understanding of te reo Māori me ōna tikanga
  • existing knowledge, experience and relationships in Māori health communications

marketing and social media experience would be advantageous as we promote our new Kaupapa Māori Services within the regions and continue to raise awareness of our Rongoā Māori Service.

Ko wai koe | About you

As a senior advisor to the business, you will be comfortable collaborating with leaders and managers across ACC to understand their business problems and develop customer communications and marketing solutions that will deliver results.

To be effective, you'll be comfortable pushing back on requests for support that will take your focus and attention away from higher-impact initiatives.

When it comes to executing, you will have the support of the broader team, which includes content creators, digital marketers and media engagement specialists. So, you'll know how to lead integrated teams but, will also be motivated and energised by rolling-up your own sleeves and getting stuck into the doing yourself.

This role requires someone who is comfortable in complex and at times ambiguous environments, able to rely on their experience and questioning skills to get to the bottom of what needs to be done. Based on this, we're looking for someone with solid experience in senior communications, looking for a role they can own and make a difference in.
