About the role

We are looking for 2 Senior Advisor's – Pacific Peoples Responsiveness to join our small, dedicated Pasifika team. These are 12-month fixed term positions. Bring your expertise and humour to join this diverse team made up of a regulator, project manager and health care professional, who are striving towards achieving WorkSafe's Puataunofo Come Home Safely programme.

The Senior Advisor roles will sit within our Pacific Partnerships team in the broader Equity, Partnerships & Intervention Design group. 

As a Senior Advisor, you will be responsible for taking ownership for programme and implementation design and delivery for health and safety intervention programmes of work, with the goal of reducing harm and fatalities in the workplace.

The position purpose is to support the Puataunofo programme's delivery and development, working alongside the National Advisor Pacific Peoples Responsiveness. You will lead and assist design of delivering and embedding Pasifika focused health and safety programmes to our Pasifika workforce, specifically a focus on Pasifika young people and Pasifika women.

In this role, you will:

  • Advocate for the organisation's Puataunofo growth and development and support the delivery of Puataunofo through collaborative engagement and partnerships.
  • Provide expertise with digital media design and promotion of Pasifika work for WorkSafe in appropriate media streams e.g., Facebook, Instagram.
  • Assist in the development of collateral and other resources with the Marketing and Communications team, including appropriate protection of current intellectual and cultural property.
  • Contribute to Pasifika Peoples' cultural leadership across WorkSafe.

To be successful, you will have/be:

  • Experience in delivering Pacific Peoples' harm prevention initiatives within the community in a collaborative and unified way.
  • Highly skilled to engage with all levels of Pasifika stakeholders and Government influencers at a national and local level.
  • A demonstrated understanding of engagement and communication with Pasifika young people in a New Zealand context.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the confidence to speak to a broad range of people, cultures and diversity.
  • Highly organised with the ability to work remotely, whilst ensuring work is visible and transparent to others.
  • An understanding of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in a service delivery environment.
  • A level of Pasifika language and cultural maturity.

Salary range

As part of our remuneration framework the full salary range for the position is from $109,654 to $144,832, and our expected starting base salary for the right person is from $112,586 to $118,448.  Note: KiwiSaver/SSRSS employer contribution is additional to/on top of your base salary.
