Job Description
Our client provides innovative construction and engineering solutions to a range of private, government and commercial customers across the country. Operating a range of standalone (but complimentary) businesses across Modular, Civil and Commercial Construction, the Group is also actively acquiring and integrating a range of sub trade and design services companies creating a unique, quality focussed total construction solution. To support continued growth within the Waikato, they are currently looking for a driven Senior to Principal Civil Engineer to help push projects to completion, lead and grow a professional team and be a key contact for the organisation.
In this role you will be contributing design, coordination, evaluation, and analysis on a variety of commercial, modular, and educational projects across New Zealand. You will use your expertise to ensure that engineering designs meet national standards and requirements as well as collaborate with team members to successfully deliver projects that meet their customers’ needs. This team plays a huge part in ensuring great outcomes to projects and programmes by delivering innovation across the planning and feasibility stage of the project lifecycle.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Technical input and leadership to projects
- Project management of small to medium projects involving investigation and reporting, preparation of estimates, design, documentation and contract surveillance
- Maintenance of good business relationships with existing and potential clients
- Preparation of high-quality reports and other correspondence
We are interested in speaking with candidates that have:
- A tertiary in engineering in Civil Engineering (ideally working towards CPEng status)
- 8 years solid work experience in the Civil, Commercial, Modular or Education sectors with a focus on one of the following: asset management, strategy, business cases, project management or risk management.
- The ability to take a lead role in the planning, designing and implementation of projects
