Ngā Kawenga | The Role

We are all about changing lives and creating pathways through meaningful Community Work projects.  As a Senior Community Work Supervisor, you will oversee and manage community workers serving community work sentences on meaningful projects at schools, reserves, community groups, Marae and churches. You will also provide leadership to a small team of Community Work Supervisors.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing people in our care who have been sentenced to community work
  • Managing community work projects
  • Monitoring sentence compliance
  • Building work relationships with community agencies
  • Mentoring and coaching Community Work Supervisors

This is a full-time 40 hours per week role working Tuesday to Saturday at our North Shore Community Work Centre.

Utu ā-tau | Salary

The starting salary for this role is $67,182 and the midpoint of the salary range is $69,476. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.

We are seeking a positive role model with a firm-but-fair management style able to motivate and work with a variety of people in a variety of situations.  A dynamic people-person, able to provide manaaki to our people on sentence and be the kaitiaki of our community work centre. 

Your practical handy person skills and ability to communicate with individuals and groups will greatly support your success in this role.  IT skills are essential.

You must work with high integrity and demonstrate the Departmental values within your work: Wairua, Whānau, Manaaki, Kaitiaki and Rangatira.

We will give you the training and support you need to become part of our team working to make communities safer. Please note you will need to complete a criminal history check and undertake a pre-employment drug test.You must also hold a Full NZ Licence.
