Description

Our client is a New Zealand electricity generator with over a 25-year history and we are on pursuit for a skilled Senior Electrical Engineer with a passion for sustainable energy to join their team at their stunning Clyde Hydro facility.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide strategic Asset Management input for discipline, adhering to Contact’s standards.
  • Offer formal Engineering advice and continuous technical support.
  • Execute Capital and Opex projects, providing risk assessment.
  • Support Process Safety projects to enhance overall safety.
  • Contribute as SME, ensuring standards meet best practice.
  • Hold Discipline Authority responsibilities to manage risks.
  • Assist in team development and strategic decision-making.
  • Identify and implement system improvements.

Essential skills

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent and minimum 10 years in power generation/distribution.
  • Proficient in Asset and Life Cycle Management principles and understanding of control and instrumentation systems.
  • Professional registration/accreditation highly desirable.
  • Extensive operational knowledge of power plant electrical systems.
  • Strong risk assessment and project management skills.
  • Sound understanding of project and outage management.
  • Experience in contract and project management and knowledge of economic analysis in investment.
  • Focus on plant capability, reliability, and efficiency.
