About the opportunity:

Our client is made up of hospitality professionals who love food and good company! The opportunity they are offering is for an Event Manager to look after events, weddings and venue bookings.

Role description:

You will determine customer requirements, propose catering options, and prepare run sheets and planning documents. You will also show willingness to work a flexible work week to coordinate the scheduled events, functions and weddings.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Plan menus, oversee venues, equipment, food, service and beverage preparations

  • Hire, train, and supervise catering staff, as well as schedule shifts

  • Monitor the availability of relevant stock and supplies and ordering replenishments

  • Manage the client's own venue bookings, negotiate prices and provide quotes

  • Oversee seating arrangements, serving of meals and beverages, and the clearing of tables

This role will suit someone with all or some of the following background/experience/qualities: 

  • Previous experience in catering / event management, wedding coordination or similar

  • Background in food service or hospitality and interest in current food trends

  • Duty Manager’s certificate is beneficial

  • Experience in hiring, training, and overseeing staff.

  • Strong computer literacy, including knowledge of Google Sheets, Docs and Calendar

  • Able to deliver catering services within budget and on time 

  • Full, clean drivers license
