We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior HR Advisor to join our small, collaborative and high-performing team. Our team of HR professionals are enabling partners to the intelligence agencies, so this is your chance to build relationships across various arenas.

About the role

As a trusted partner in HR excellence, the Senior HR Advisor will provide tailored guidance and support to managers and team leaders at all levels, across the full range of HR functions. You will use your expertise to provide tailored advice and support on HR policies and practices and guide the organisation in change management, employee engagement, employment relations and performance management.  You will champion and support the delivery of People & Capability initiatives, and also provide day to day mentoring and guidance to your HR Advisor colleagues. This is a hands-on role, filled with variety where no two days are the same!

Who are we looking for?

Ideally you will have:

  • Broad experience in providing generalist HR advisory services in a medium sized organisation, preferably within the NZ public sector.
  • Change management experience.
  • Experience in employee relations and supporting performance management.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and influence across all levels of an organisation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of resilience with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Effective coaching skills.

To be eligible for employment within the NZIC you must have been a NZ citizen for at least 10 years. Alternatively you must hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and ideally have been a citizen of UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years.

You must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Special (TSS) security clearance. Ordinarily to obtain this level of clearance candidates must have a 15 year checkable background in countries where meaningful and reliable checks can be undertaken. Where requisite checks are unable to be made, the candidate application may not be able to be progressed.
