Te Papa is seeking an experienced and innovative adult educator to contribute to the development of our pilot PLD programme for teachers. You will be responsible for leading the design, development, facilitation and delivery of impactful and innovative professional learning programmes that uplift, support and improve teacher professional practice.  You will work collaboratively with culture and heritage partners and other educational partners in designing programmes to meet specific needs and also support building capability of educators working across the culture and heritage sector and equipping them to deliver professional learning to kaiako in their role.

Fluency in Te Reo Māori, confidence in tikanga Māori and the ability to deliver programmes in Te -Reo Māori to audiences of varying fluency is essential.

There is one fixed term and full time (40 hour per week,) role for 1 year. If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.

The Learning team comprises of specialists across museum education including formal learning, early childhood, kohanga reo, kura kaupapa, primary and secondary school audiences, and our digital learning space - Hīnātore. Learning Specialists work closely together to facilitate a dynamic range of learning programmes for school and kura groups, onsite, on outreach and by digital delivery. You will also work alongside Te Papa's staff in curatorial, collections, exhibitions and visitor services teams.

Te Papa is committed to the protection and wellbeing of children. A component of this role involves interaction with children so, as a part of the assessment process, we will require Police Vetting of preferred candidates to ensure we are providing a safe environment for children. This requirement complies with the Children's Act 2014.

The appointment range for this position is between $91,773 – $108,980

Offers will be made within the range to reflect the skills and experience offered by the candidate and those required of the role, and internal relativities with other employees.
