As our Senior Procurement Advisor - Procurement Excellence, you will contribute to the direction, development and implementation of the fit for purpose approach to procurement including strategies, methodologies, systems, processes and tools for NZTA | Waka Kotahi.
This is an opportunity to get involved in leading change, identifying and determining suitability of new and innovative ideas and concepts, and working on a diverse programme of work that crosses multiple parties.
This role involves owning and leading the administration, development and maintenance of our procurement related documentation. As part of the team, you will contribute to the identification, assessment, design and implementation of fit for purpose policies, methodologies, processes, systems and tools to ensure best practice outcomes in procurement. You'll draw on your strong communication and engagement skills to provide specialist advice on procurement practices to both internal and external customers, at all levels. In addition, you will need to work jointly with senior managers, teams and staff to ensure our commercial practices are aligned with, and deliver against, agency objectives.
You will bring a strong understanding of commercial excellence practices to the role and will look to drive the development of best procurement outcomes and support the adoption of new methodologies and solutions that enhance the way we work with our suppliers.

A born doer, you'll be able deliver commercial excellence procurement outcomes and provide support Waka Kotahi to achieve efficient execution of its sourcing, selection, and contract management objectives; ensuring all goods and services procured for represent the best quality and value for money within legal, policy and contractual parameters.
You'll also possess:
  • 5+ years of procurement and/or commercial (or related) experience
  • Experience in the administration, development and maintenance of procurement related documentation
  • Experience in developing and implementing procurement improvement initiatives
  • Experience in continuous improvement across procurement systems and processes
  • Experience in performance management and reporting
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Well-developed commercial acumen
Qualifications:
  • Tertiary qualification in a related discipline or equivalent experience
  • CIPS or related professional industry membership preferred.
You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of Te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.'
