Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
We're seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist (Senior Procurement Manager) who will support project teams through large or high-risk procurement and contract negotiation processes. You'll work closely with the Principal Procurement Manager on this complex procurement project.

With your strong communication and engagement skills, you'll provide commercial support and specialist advice on procurement to both internal and external customers. You'll assess procurement strategies, make complex decisions based on clear analysis, and have a good understanding of risk management techniques.

Ko koe tēnei | About you
To be successful, you'll bring:

  • Experience in a similar senior role.
  • Relevant post-graduate procurement experience (minimum 5 years), preferably in the construction industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of procurement processes, contractual requirements, and risk management techniques.
  • Sound understanding of tendering principles with the private sector.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering or relevant technical discipline highly desirable.
  • MCIPS certification or relevant experience in commercial or procurement roles.
  • Ability to gain professional registration or membership of a NZ professional institution.
  • Knowledge of, or willingness to gain understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori.

You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
