Trust Framework Authority - new function, new opportunities

A new function within the Digital Public Service Branch, the Digital Identity Services Trust Framework has been established to put ownership and control of digital identity information firmly in the hands of individuals, enabling easy sharing of identity information and reducing privacy and security breaches. The work of the Trust Framework is ground-breaking and will influence the digital landscape for both public and private sector organisations; helping to identify solutions that will support New Zealanders to provide proof of who they are online in an easy, fast and accessible way.

About the role

The Senior Regulator is an expert frontline practitioner responsible for the successful delivery of responsive, risk-based approaches that ensure regulated parties understand their obligations and that DIA's responsibilities are delivered to standard.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering evidence-based, thorough, timely and justifiable recommendations around decisions on accreditation and regulatory interventions.
  • Leading investigations or enquiries including analysing documentation, conducting interviews, and producing timely reports to assess levels of practice in the industry.
  • Making informed decisions and recommendations resulting in effective and proportionate interventions to address non-compliance and encourage best practice.

About you

You will be an expert regulatory practitioner who has been responsible for the successful delivery of modern, risk-based regulatory interventions including accreditation, compliance and enforcement, information and education, and monitoring of the regulated sector.

To be successful in this role you will be a modern regulator who:

  • Can navigate complexity in a regulatory environment.
  • Has excellent written communication skills.
  • Is a natural when it comes to interacting with people and building relationships.
  • Can deal with ambiguity with persistence and resilience.
  • Enjoys working in a complex environment as part of a high performing team.
