Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role - Fixed Term, 18 months 

Reporting to the Group Director Operations, the Service Lead will provide operational management for the Medical and Acute Services.


The Service Lead will oversee service delivery and lead the implementation of new strategies, drive agreed projects within the service and provide the ongoing strategic direction for their portfolio.  This will be achieved in conjunction with recommendations and support from their Direct Reports, Clinical Directors, Heads of Department, nursing and Allied Health Leads.

Moū - About you

To be successful in this role, you’ll need an understanding of and a proven ability in related areas:

  • Accountable and responsible for operational management and strategic planning for the medical and acute services
  • Strategic oversight to facilitate the provision of services to meet the current and future needs of Consumers.
  • Leads the development of quality business management practices for services that are compliant with legislation, standards, best practice protocols and Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Taranaki’s policy, procedures, protocols and guidelines.
  • Productive relationships are established and maintained with internal and external stakeholders.

The Service Lead will also work with relevant internal and external stakeholders to achieve and deliver on agreed goals within the regional and national priorities.
