Hōkai Rangi is Ara Poutama Aotearoa's organisational strategy for the next 5 years. It recognises and builds on the good work we are already doing, however, it also looks to find new and alternative ways to achieve better outcomes for the people in our care and their whānau which will result in reduced reoffending.

A key focus of Hōkai Rangi is the humanising and healing of those in our management.  Ara Poutama Aotearoa leaders focus on having relationships with these people, and their whānau, that are based on manaaki and contribute positively to their wellbeing – and guiding their teams to do the same.
