The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health NZ, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people - s health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.
We
have a permanent, full-time opportunity available to join our team as an
Enforcement Officer. These roles are critical in enabling the delivery of the
NPHS strategic agenda for Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) with compliance activities
related to Smokefree Environments and Regulated Products Act 1990. The role
will see you taking action in accordance with our national strategy, plan and
evidence-based approach to compliance activity. Working effectively with
systems and processes for regional delivery and reporting of compliance
activity.

Alongside your previous experience in regulation or compliance, our
ideal candidate will also possess the following:
You will bring:
A commitment to being a good Te Tiriti partner in all your actions. This includes an understanding of the significance of and obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and the ability to apply Te Tiriti principles in a meaningful way in this role.
Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying.
