Social Work Team Leader / Professional Lead 
Permanent & Full time (40hrs per week)

HNZ Te Whatu Ora Lakes are seeking a Social Work Team Leader / Professional Lead to lead our dedicated, fantastic and highly regarded Social Work team. Based at Rotorua hospital, you will both directly contribute to and support the wider team in the safe delivery of a comprehensive, high quality Social Work service across Rotorua and Taupō hospitals. The Social Work department provides service to physical health inpatients (all wards), the Emergency Department and Women Child and Family.    


Furthermore, in your clinical and professional leadership role, you will have a key role in providing advice and input into Social Work related mahi across the district including supporting our Social Workers working in our Mental Health and Family Violence Intervention program. 


You will be supported by the Service Manager Clinical Support Services / Director of Allied Health Scientific and Technical. You will play an active part in the Clinical Support Leadership team and contribute to the regional Social Worker Professional Leaders forum. As a Social Worker working across our organisation, you will be highly valued by our supportive multi-disciplinary teams for your expertise and advice on matters such as the practical application of PPPR processes to support complex discharges.    


Our preferred candidate will have:

  • Previous experience of leadership within a healthcare setting

  • the ability to work within fast paced multi-disciplinary environment

  • have excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • have a deep commitment to address equity issues within our community
  • This position will require you to have current SWRB registration.

Salary range
$119,000 up to $124,000 p.a. pro rata increasing to $122,570 to $127,720 in September 2024.
