About the Role
We have an opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to work in our Whangarei based, Te Roopu Whitiora Mental Health & Addiction Services; working alongside Acute Spectrum and other Mental Health service team members as a Social Worker.
The primary function of this role is to improve safety and quality of care for Tāngata Whaiora and their Whānau; accessing Te Whatu Ora mental health and addiction services and to assist in the enhancement of culturally responsive services for Māori to improve health outcomes for Māori. Te Roopu Whitiora are committed to ensuring equitable health outcomes for Maori as Tāngata Whenua.
Our ideal candidate will have experience working in Te Ao Maori and Te Ao Tauiwi, working alongside tāngata whaiora and their whānau living with the effects of mental illness and addictions in our community.
You will have the ability to communicate and advocate for tāngata whaiora and their whānau, collaborate effectively with other members of the team, and engage Māori in making choices that enhance their wellbeing.
As these are community-based roles, you must have a valid full drivers licence.
The successful applicant will work alongside other Kai Mahi Maori within a supportive team environment of health professionals that is committed to delivering an excellent clinical and cultural service that reflects the needs of our tāngata whaiora and their whānau.
This role is a permanent full time position (1.0 FTE) working Monday to Friday 8am -4.30pm
