Our client, a prominent player with over 30 years in the IT industry, invites applications for the role of Systems Engineer L2/L3 in Epsom, Auckland. Joining their close-knit team, the successful candidate will contribute to the technical support of hardware and software applications, working with a diverse client base.

 

Role description:

 

As a Systems Engineer L2/L3, you will be responsible for providing technical support for hardware and software applications, primarily on the Microsoft Windows platform. The role involves managing on-premise and hybrid infrastructure, resolving incidents, upgrading software and hardware, and interacting with clients.

 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Provide technical solutions and recommendations, ensuring alignment with customer expectations.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues, mentoring and developing team members.
  • Conduct intermediate to advanced technical product training in Mac and Windows environments.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain computer systems, hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • Implement and maintain physical and Hyper-V-based servers.

 

This role will suit someone with all or some of the following background/experience/qualities: 

  • Previous experience in a managed service provider environment.
  • Proficiency in Active Directory, Hyper-V, IIS, RDS, and Radius.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP protocols, Subnetting, IP addressing, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, NAT, and Routing.
  • Experience in Azure Administration, including on-premise to Azure migrations and virtual machine management.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2012-2022.
