Our Sector Digital Channels team are working to expand and improve the digital health landscape in Aotearoa. We are the digital transformation partners enabling modern technology solutions that improve the people and whānau experience through equitable access to varying models of care.

We are the change agent for national programmes and work with our customers and partners to enable equitable access through both digital self-service and assisted channels and to reduce pressure on the workforce through automation and integration. We are product focused and leverage modern platforms, technologies and ways of working to deliver quality, sustainable and cost-effective products and services.

We take pride in leading change that will provide equitable digital solutions for the health of Aotearoa.

 

Mōu | About you

This pivotal role sits front and centre in leading and developing the QA engineering capability for Sector Digital Channels and beyond.

As Team Lead, you'll run a team of QA Automation professionals who operate embedded in delivery teams.  You will be responsible for enabling efficient execution of all test automation activities, bring your comprehensive technical expertise to bear across a broad spectrum of technology domains such as, but not limited to, AWS, Azure, Java and Web.  

You will be immersed in creating a collaborative culture that facilitates nonstop delivery and deployment of software through efficient development processes, heading up a practice that delivers high-quality outcomes to our customers. Your expertise will contribute significantly to our business plans and programs, while supporting our data and digital strategy.

Our team is an integral part of our 24/7 Services organisation, spread across New Zealand communities. Our tech landscape is always bustling, serving numerous users and supporting mission-critical applications, from computing and networking to telecommunications and cloud-based services. It's a dynamic and exciting environment, and together with teamwork and collaboration, we're ready to take on any challenge that comes our way.

 

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. 
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience of leading software or Quality Assurance engineering teams.
  • Experience with hiring, managing, and growing people from a variety of backgrounds. 
  • Experience in writing and developing software, either as a Senior Software Engineer or Senior Quality Engineer. 
  • Exceptional planning and organisational experience. 
  • Experience in working with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Proven experience in managing suppliers and vendors. 
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and encourage teams in an environment of change, financial prudence and an increasing level of digital maturity across the organisation 
  • Sound delivery experience across a range of delivery styles including experience with agile team facilitation, matrix model delivery and product teams. 
  • Knowledge of the Health Sector and Government would be a bonus but not essential.
