Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

A permanent position of 40 hours per week currently exists in the Health Technology Operations Team for an experienced Team Leader to join the current team at Taranaki Base Hospital.

A Health Technology Operations, Team Leader is responsible for leading multi-disciplinary teams responsible for providing Health Technology Operations services to ensure medical equipment and systems are safe and available when and where needed.


The Team Leader is responsible for managing and mentoring/training the team to maintain medical equipment and technology in healthcare settings to ensure they function correctly and safely, ultimately contributing to the delivery of quality patient care.

Moū - About you

The successful applicant will possess an engineering or scientific tertiary qualification in a relevant field (Clinical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or Medical Physics qualification), and have a minimum of 7 years experience in leadership in these fields.

Qualities, skills and experience required:

·
A minimum of 7 years work in a clinical engineering environment; with 2 years’ experience mentoring/training individuals and/or .

·
The ability to work independently as a Team Leader or as part of a team.

·
An attitude and motivation for excellence and pride in one’s own work.

·
Attention to detail and a commitment to upholding patient safety and regulatory standards.

·
Must hold or able to secure within 24 Months of starting a relevant professional practicing license or registration with a relevant professional body.

·
Competent computer and data entry skills.


Other qualities, skills and experience desired:

·
Report writing skills.

·
A strong commitment to Health and Safety in the workplace and a basic understanding, at least, of the relevant legislation.
