Korero mo te turanga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Web Content Administrator. The University is undertaking an exciting project to rethink, refresh and in some cases migrate the subject and qualification content from a web application to the main web channel and apply a fresh design to its course pages.

The Web Content Administrator, SQC will assist in the redevelopment of content for the subjects and qualifications sections of the SQC website.This involves working with the SQC project content team to help audit existing SQC content; assist in the development of new SQC content in partnership with content owners; migrate existing content; build approximately 400 new web pages; assist with usability and accessibility testing.

Key responsibilities:

  • Use the content management system, to upload new content to the website
  • Work with the SQC Content team to help plan the delivery of content
  • Work with the SQC Content team to develop SQC content that is user-centred and delivers benefits
  • Comply with the quality assurance framework that determines how content will meet quality standards and how it will be signed off
  • Contribute to the assessment of new content regarding its usability and accessibility
  • Assist in the auditing of existing SQC content to determine what is in scope
  • Participate in use-testing of new SQC content as required
  • Help promote web best practices with the community of web content editors at the University
  • Help create documentation

We are seeking an innovative, flexible, customer-focused individual with previous knowledge and experience managing/publishing web content in a tertiary education institute or other complex environment.

Key requirements:

  • An understanding of web best practises: web writing, content design, UX, IA, SEO, analytics, accessibility
  • Experience working with content management systems (CMS).
  • Experience communicating effectively with stakeholders, including business users, content owners, and project managers
  • Able to identify and resolve problems - should be able to think critically and come up with creative solutions
  • Great attention to detail
